Donald Trump recently released a map depicting the Strait of Hormuz, labeling it as "new American territory." This statement has drawn attention to the geopolitical situation in the region, marked by tensions with Iran.

In a series of statements, Trump asserted that the Strait was now "open" for navigation. He claimed that all mines that may have been present in the area had been "removed or neutralized," thus ensuring the safety of vessels.

Despite these assertions, the number of crossings in the Strait of Hormuz has significantly declined, dropping to just six on Wednesday. Trump indicated that no discussions with Iran are currently taking place or planned in the near term.
