EasyJet crew announce strikes for October and December
EasyJet crew plan strikes from October 2 to 6 and December 19 to 23, affecting around 500 flights, as announced in a general assembly.
EasyJet cabin crew decided in a general assembly held on Thursday to go ahead with strikes on October 2 to 6 and December 19 to 23. This information was confirmed by an official source from the National Union of Civil Aviation Flight Personnel (SNPVAC).
According to the announcements made, the planned strikes could affect approximately 500 flights. Negotiations are underway regarding the minimum services to be guaranteed during the strike periods.
The airline stated that it considers the claims presented by the crew, in the context of the fight for better working conditions and pay, to be "unfeasible."
The strikes in October and December were a response to accumulated dissatisfaction among employees regarding working conditions and salary issues.
Crew representatives explained that the decision to resort to a strike is a last resort after unsuccessful negotiation attempts that did not lead to satisfactory improvements.
EasyJet will continue to communicate with worker representatives in the hope of finding a solution that avoids significant disruptions to operations during the strike periods.
