A father forgot his 10-year-old son at a gas station in Cáceres, driving about 100 kilometers without him. The incident occurred when the father was refueling the car and the child got out unnoticed.
Staff at the gas station noticed the boy alone and crying, and subsequently sought help from a security officer. The child became distressed upon realizing that his father had left without him.
After the staff's intervention, the security officer managed to locate the father, who was already a considerable distance from the gas station. The man was informed of the situation and returned to the location to pick up his son.
This incident raises concerns about child safety in public spaces and the attentiveness of guardians during stops on travels.
