Fatin Ben Homar Azizi, 26, dreamed of playing professional football in Europe. However, seeing few opportunities for her future in Morocco, she was driven to attempt the crossing to Ceuta.
At the beginning of July, Fatin and her family tried to travel from Morocco to Ceuta. Fatin was determined and expressed her desire not to remain in poverty. Unfortunately, she did not survive the perilous journey.
Her death has left a profound impact, and Fatin is now seen as a symbol of the dangers and tragedies that migrants face along the way, as reported by De Standaard and NRC.
