FC Twente has decided not to take several players to Slovakia for the return match in the preliminary round of the Conference League against DAC 1904. Coach John van den Brom is leaving several players behind in Enschede due to a strong starting position, including striker Wout Weghorst.
In addition to Weghorst, goalkeeper Lars Unnerstall is also staying at home. FC Twente won the first match 6-0, which provided the opportunity to rest players for the return.
