Femke Broeders-Bol secured second place on Saturday in the final of the Diamond League for the 800 meters. This took place during an exciting race in Brussels, where Broeders-Bol was unable to improve her national record.

The race was won by Audrey Werro, who defended her title as European champion with a time of 1:54.75. Broeders-Bol finished just behind her, clocking 1:54.81, which is only one-tenth of a second above her Dutch record.

Broeders-Bol's performance marks her first appearance in the Diamond League final in this discipline. In the five years leading up to this final, she had secured various titles in the 400-meter hurdles in the Diamond League.

In the final meters of the race, Broeders-Bol executed a strong finishing sprint, making it challenging for the winner, Werro. Despite her efforts, she could not claim victory. The race highlighted the intense competition between the two athletes.

Additionally, Dutch athlete Visser crossed the finish line in fifth place in this final.
