Fire in Massegros, Lozère: 100 Hectares Burned and Evacuations
A wildfire has ravaged 100 hectares of forest in Massegros Causses Gorges, necessitating the evacuation of homes and the mobilization of firefighters.

On Sunday, August 9, a fire broke out in the commune of Massegros Causses Gorges in Lozère, already burning 100 hectares of forest. According to information from franceinfo, the fire was reportedly caused by a car fire, leading to the evacuation of about twenty homes.
At the same time, in the Claps massif in Drôme, 400 hectares were also affected by a wildfire. The situation in Lozère, as reported by RTBF, became calm overnight, and the fire was contained, although the initial destruction was significant.
