France imposes curfews in response to violent protests
Following violent protests over the cost of living, the French Prime Minister requests curfews in several cities.

French Prime Minister Sébastien Lecornu announced the request for partial curfews to mayors of various cities in response to violent protests that occurred over the weekend. Affected cities include Paris, where access to the Louvre was blocked by student movements, and Marseille, which imposed restrictions on gatherings.
According to various sources, the measure was deemed necessary after confrontations, fires, and looting associated with the protests against the high cost of living. Lecornu stated that the restrictions could help restore public order in the areas most affected by the disturbances.
The French government is considering the possibility of declaring a state of emergency if the situation does not improve. Sources indicate that, for now, the curfews are seen as an adequate response to the recent events.

On Monday, October 19, several curfews were imposed, and the Prime Minister acknowledged that these measures have already contributed to a calmer night in some regions of the country, although protests continue in various forms.
Authorities also indicated that the curfews may be extended into the night of Tuesday, October 20, depending on the situation's evolution. The approach aims to prevent further disturbances and ensure local safety.
Initial signs of calm have been reported, but the government remains vigilant and prepared to act according to the developments in the protests and the population's responses.
