Galicia's Xunta blocks Laureano Oubiña's 'narcotour' due to lack of authorization

The Xunta of Galicia has decided to veto the 'narcotour' that former smuggler Laureano Oubiña had planned for August 29. According to the regional government, this activity does not have the authorization from any duly registered travel agency, which implies a potential serious violation if the tour were to take place.

Reports indicate that Oubiña's tour aimed to cover the 'drug trafficking route' in the Arousa estuary, and around 150 people had paid 189 euros each to participate. During the excursion, the former trafficker intended to recount his experiences related to smuggling.

The Tourist Inspection of the Xunta acted on its own initiative upon noticing advertisements for the event, which led to intervention to prevent the development of such activities without proper compliance with current regulations.
