Isar Aerospace, a startup based in Bavaria, successfully launched its Spectrum rocket from the Andøya spaceport in Arctic Norway on Saturday. This launch represents a significant milestone as it is the first commercial launch to reach orbit from continental Europe, according to multiple reports.

The Spectrum rocket, measuring 28 meters in length, carried five satellites into space. This launch comes 18 months after Isar Aerospace's initial attempt at launching the rocket.

The successful operation brings Europe closer to establishing its own capabilities for satellite launches. Several countries in Europe have expressed interest in participating in the expanding market for space missions, focusing on reducing reliance on foreign launch services.

This event highlights the increasing ambitions of European nations to develop independent space launch options. Experts view the launch as a significant step toward enhancing Europe’s position within the global space industry.
