The Spanish government has decided to cancel the leave of military personnel stationed in Ceuta due to concerns over a potential mass influx of migrants from Morocco. This order, signed on Sunday, mandates that those who were on vacation in the peninsula or abroad must return to their duties.
Cadena SER reported that the decision is based on "operational needs," meaning that all military personnel will remain available until further notice. The suspension of leaves has drawn criticism regarding the management of relations with other countries, such as Italy, according to the Popular Party.
