Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis announced on Saturday a billion-euro relief package set to be implemented ahead of next year's elections. The announced measures include extensive tax reductions and wage increases to improve citizens' economic situations.
The 2027 action plan has a budget of 2.2 billion euros, which corresponds to about one percent of Greece's economic output. Among other provisions, the package includes a special annual payment of 400 euros for pensioners and 500 euros for civil servants.
Mitsotakis stated that the tax cuts and wage increases are intended to remain in effect until 2028. However, the exact details of the implementation have not yet been released.
