The Hugo Awards Association has announced the nominations for its 16th edition, where the musical Hairspray has been recognized as the most nominated, with a total of 16 nominations. Among these are awards for Best Musical, General Direction, Choreography, Costume Design, and Scenic Design.
Several prominent performers were also nominated, including Agustín Aristarán, Iñaki Aldao, Roberto Peloni, Elena Roger, Julieta Nair Calvo, and Mela Lenoir, among others. This event highlights the talent within the Argentine musical theatre scene.
Alongside Hairspray, the musical Billy Elliot is also among the most nominated. Leading category nominees include Agustín Aristarán, Campi, Fernando Dente, Alejandra Perlusky, Elena Roger, and Julieta Nair Calvo, reflecting broad participation from artists in this edition.
