Heatwave leads to numerous fatalities – doctors call for protective measures
Doctors warn of health consequences of heat as tens of thousands of deaths are reported.

According to the Robert Koch Institute, the high temperatures this year have already resulted in approximately 12,000 fatalities. This alarming figure highlights that heat not only poses life-threatening risks but also negatively impacts the health situation of broad segments of the population.
The President of the German Medical Association, Reinhardt, emphasizes that many of these reported deaths could have been prevented and thus calls for urgent measures to protect the population. This demand aims to better address the health risks associated with extreme heat.
