Hikers with children rescued in Austrian Alps
Rescue workers helped 36 hikers, including several children, out of the Austrian mountains after they got lost.
On Sunday, rescue workers in the Austrian Alps assisted a group of 36 hikers who had lost their way in the mountains. The group consisted of three families with several children and two babies in strollers. They set out from the Wildspitzbahn mountain station near Sölden at an altitude of about 2,650 meters.
The hikers, hailing from various countries, included seventeen Belgians, nine Britons, seven Austrians, and three Americans. The group had planned their hike but encountered difficulties during their journey.
According to local media, the situation was challenging due to the altitude and the presence of small children and strollers, making navigation in the Alps more difficult. Fortunately, no one was injured during the incident.
Rescue workers were called in to safely guide the group back. Their efforts were successful and without incident, ensuring a quick and safe return for the hikers.
This incident highlights the risks of hiking with young children in mountainous areas, especially in wintry conditions.
