The tropical storm 'Lala' has intensified into a Category 1 hurricane just off the coast of Hawaii. According to the U.S. Hurricane Center, wind speeds of up to 120 kilometers per hour were recorded on Saturday morning local time.
The largest island in the archipelago, Big Island, has already been significantly affected. Flooding, power outages, and road closures have been reported, leaving thousands of residents without electricity as the weather situation worsens.
Additionally, the islands of Maui and Oahu are also expected to face storms and heavy rain as the hurricane moves closer to its destination. Experts warn of the potential impacts from these extreme weather conditions.
