Indian, American Navies to Conduct EOD Exercise in Kochi Starting August 10
A five-day explosive ordnance disposal exercise between the Indian and American navies will take place in Kochi, enhancing maritime security and interoperability.
The Indian and American navies will commence a five-day exercise focused on explosive ordnance disposal (EOD) in Kochi starting on August 10. This training initiative is designed to improve the ability of participating teams to manage challenges related to explosive ordnance in maritime environments.
According to reports, the exercise will include a range of activities such as expert discussions, cross-training, and scenario-based drills. These exercises aim to enhance interoperability between the diving and EOD teams from both navies.
The event will also cover practical exercises aimed at clearing mines and defusing explosives, as well as addressing security concerns regarding ports and coastal infrastructure against asymmetric threats.
This joint exercise represents the eighth iteration of cooperative training between the two navies, underlining their commitment to strengthening maritime security operations and fostering teamwork.
