Industry responsible for 70 percent of water withdrawals in Austria

According to the Federation of Austrian Industries, 70 percent of water withdrawals in Austria are attributed to industry. A significant portion of this water is used for cooling and then returned to water bodies.

Despite the water shortage in the country, the industry does not plan to cut production for the time being. This decision was made in relation to water withdrawals and their return to the waterways.
