In a statement made this Sunday, Iranian President Massoud Pezeshkian recognized that the country is currently going through a difficult period. He noted that Iranian citizens are facing "many difficulties" in various aspects of social and economic life.

This acknowledgment comes as the United States announces a new campaign of sanctions aimed at further isolating the Iranian economy. Pezeshkian described the situation as a form of "total war" on economic, military, and security fronts, highlighting Washington's threats to provoke the collapse of the Iranian regime through economic pressure.

In his speech, broadcasted by state television, the president stated: "I understand that we have many problems in society at the moment. We are doing everything we can to prevent the situation from worsening."

Pezeshkian emphasized the need to address these challenges, despite the context of rising tensions between Iran and the United States. He drew attention to the impact of U.S. sanctions, which are considered the most severe ever imposed on the country.

Other sources reported that challenges such as high inflation and rising unemployment rank among the major concerns of the Iranian government. This difficult climate is exacerbated by the repercussions of geopolitical tensions with the United States.

As the situation persists, Iran continues to face growing internal challenges, and the announcement of recent executions related to protests has also raised concerns about the human rights situation in the country.
