Málaga closes six beaches after detecting E. coli in the water

The Málaga City Council has closed six beaches to swimming following the detection of E. coli in the water. This measure was taken after tests showed levels above the optimal limits.

The prohibition has been enforced by raising the red flag in the affected areas, alerting bathers to the closure. The decision comes during the peak summer tourist season and coincides with the week of the Feria in the city.

This is the third beach closure in less than a month related to the presence of E. coli, raising concerns among residents and visitors.
