Medical students at UniCesumar in Maringá, Paraná, have been expelled from the university due to the sending of offensive messages to fellow scholarship students and references to Nazism in a WhatsApp group. The institution took note of the students' actions following an internal investigation, which concluded that the expulsion of the involved students was necessary.

The offenses occurred after Luiz Inácio Lula da Silva's victory in the elections, and the messages contained xenophobic and elitist content, along with allusions to Nazi symbols. These actions were deemed unacceptable by the university, which reiterated its commitment to inclusion and diversity.

The Federal Public Ministry has also begun an investigation into the discriminatory behaviors recorded on social media involving the students. The case has generated significant backlash, raising concerns about the ethical conduct of future healthcare professionals.

The Regional Medical Council of Paraná (CRM-PR) expressed concern over the events and stated that the students' actions violate the principles of the Medical Student Code of Ethics, which requires respect for others and human dignity. CRM-PR announced that it will monitor the situation and take appropriate legal action.

The offensive messages were made public, prompting the university to issue a statement clarifying the situation and reaffirming its position against any form of discrimination. This measure aims to protect the integrity of the academic environment and ensure respectful treatment among all students.

This incident highlights the need for dialogue and education on diversity and respect in higher education institutions, especially in health-related courses, where empathy and respect for others are fundamental.
