Two days before the election, Netanyahu said he had intelligence indicating that Iran and its allies could launch attacks to disrupt Tuesday's voting. In a video released by his office, the prime minister said he would respond with crushing blows if the Islamic Republic or its representatives attempted any provocation against Israel.

According to Israeli Channel 12, tensions emerged between Netanyahu and Army Chief Eyal Zamir over a possible military operation against Iran before the election. The military commander expressed reservations about an operation that could trigger a new escalation with the Persian nation.

U.S. President Donald Trump reiterated his support for Netanyahu on the eve of the vote, saying both countries needed to finish the work they had begun. Trump also highlighted offensives against Iran carried out by both nations.

Israelis went to the polls in an election described as pivotal for Netanyahu following three years of conflict. It was the first vote since Hamas's 2023 attack, an event that has deeply shaped Israeli politics.

Polls showed a divided landscape. According to reports, the Yashar party, led by Eisenkot, appeared as the most voted, while the centre-opposition bloc gained more seats than Netanyahu's bloc, though neither reached a clear majority of the 61 seats needed in Parliament.

Netanyahu voted in Jerusalem accompanied by his wife Sara and urged citizens to participate in an election that would determine his continuation in power. The participation rate recorded was the highest since 1977.
