One dead and several affected in fires across various Spanish localities
Fires have resulted in one death and several people affected in different parts of the country, with investigations ongoing into their causes.
A fire in a residence in the town of Alberic resulted in one death and left five others affected. The blaze started around 3:00 AM on Friday, and the causes are under investigation, according to local sources.
In Foz, Galicia, another fire also resulted in the death of a man. Emergency services were alerted to the incident around 10:00 PM when several neighbors reported smoke in the Marzán neighborhood. After firefighters extinguished the flames, the victim was located inside the property.
In Alcorcón, a woman died from smoke inhalation due to a fire in her home. During the intervention, a neighbor was taken to the hospital and seven firefighters required medical attention. The causes of the fire are being investigated by the relevant authorities.
Meanwhile, in Madrid, an 84-year-old man was found dead in his home, showing signs of strangulation and head trauma. The National Police have launched an investigation and have arrested his daughter-in-law in connection with the case.
