Porto invests in health centers; Government allocates 500 million for technical centers
The Porto municipality invests 11 million in health centers while the Government launches 500 million for technical centers.
The Porto Municipal Chamber announced an investment of 11 million euros for the creation of new health centers. This decision follows shortcomings in the decentralization process of the Recovery and Resilience Plan (PRR), which forced the municipality to take on this significant responsibility. Pedro Duarte, a municipal official, expressed that it is "fair and appropriate" for the State to support future projects in the health sector, reflecting the need for collaboration to improve health services in the city.
Simultaneously, the Portuguese Government revealed an investment of 500 million euros in 402 specialized technological centers in schools across the country. Education Minister Fernando Alexandre announced during the inauguration of two of these centers in Beja that this investment aims to strengthen vocational education through the creation of suitable educational infrastructures.
The investment program includes a total of 402 specialized technological centers, 40 of which were added beyond the original target set. The objective is to increase training opportunities and the skills of students, better preparing them for the job market.

The Education Minister highlighted the importance of this investment not only for educational institutions but also for the national economy, equipping young people with the necessary skills.
