The Socialist Party (PS) has requested hearings from the Inspectorate-General of Finances (IGF), the current president of RTP, as well as former presidents Gonçalo Reis and Guilherme Costa. Additionally, the PS has asked to hear from former administrators Luís Marinho and Luís Marques, along with Vítor Caldeira, who is part of the Independent General Council of RTP.

This request from the PS parliamentary group for a joint hearing will be discussed in the parliamentary Budget and Finance committees. The initiative comes in the wake of a preliminary report revealing alleged irregularities in the subsidy allocation by the public broadcasting company.

The preliminary report that prompted this request for hearings highlighted possible irregularities that raised concerns about RTP's financial management. The allegations cited in the report involve the management of public resources and transparency in the selection and distribution of subsidies.

Through the hearings, the PS aims to promote clarification on these matters and ensure that those responsible are held accountable. The measure is seen as necessary to guarantee clarity and integrity in the administration of RTP.

The hearings aim not only to hear from current and former leaders of RTP but also to clarify the role of the IGF in overseeing the situation within the public company.
