The Polícia de Segurança Pública (PSP) collected 265 weapons and over six thousand rounds of ammunition over a period of two months. This collection is part of an effort to enhance safety and improve awareness of weapons and explosives services among citizens.
During this period, the PSP conducted 140 community policing actions, primarily aimed at informing and encouraging the public to hand over weapons and ammunition to police specialists.
These actions are described as a way to raise awareness among citizens about the risks associated with illegal weapons use and promote voluntary surrender.
According to reports, these initiatives aim not only to reduce the number of weapons in circulation but also to improve collaboration between the police and the community.
