The partnership aims to develop engines for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft initiative.

Reliance Industries and Rolls-Royce have announced a collaboration to develop engines for India's Advanced Medium Combat Aircraft (AMCA) programme. In their joint statement, the companies highlighted their intention to explore the establishment of an Aerospace Gas Turbine Complex in India.
The proposed facility aims to enhance expertise across the entire engine lifecycle, including design, development, manufacturing, testing, production, and long-term maintenance and support. This partnership is set to combine Rolls-Royce's advanced knowledge in aero-engine technology with Reliance's strengths in technology and manufacturing.
This initiative signifies a move towards indigenous development of combat aircraft engines, positioning both companies to contribute significantly to India's defense capabilities and self-reliance in military aviation.
