The Parliament approved a decree aimed at accelerating the expulsion process of undocumented immigrants in Portugal. This measure, known as the return law, was passed with the support of the PSD, which expressed a 'sense of duty fulfilled' following the approval.

Sebastião Bugalho from the PSD expressed optimism regarding the law's promulgation, especially after receiving the 'green light' from the Constitutional Court (TC). Bugalho believes that the President of the Republic will promulgate the decree promptly.

On the other hand, the Livre party opposed the law, calling for a political veto from the President. The party expressed concerns about the implications of the law for immigrants' rights.

Reactions to this approval reveal a clear divide between right-wing parties that support the measure and left-wing parties that contest the approach adopted by the return law.

The discussion surrounding the expulsion of undocumented immigrants in Portugal continues to generate political tension, reflecting differing perspectives on immigration and human rights.
