Rumors of foldable iPhones and self-healing displays from Samsung
Insider reports suggest a foldable iPhone Ultra and new technologies for Samsung displays.

According to insider Majin Bu, CAD drawings of a potential foldable iPhone Ultra, which Apple could launch in 2027, have been published online. One of the images shows a model with an elongated screen and a triple main camera, resembling the design of the iPhone 17 Pro. The relevant post appeared on his profile on the platform X.
Additionally, insider Schrodinger reports that the display technology for the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra, being developed by Samsung and Corning, includes a self-healing glass cover. This new material, Gorilla Armor, is said to be capable of bypassing or making microscopic and surface scratches less visible. However, it will not be able to heal deep scratches or cracks.
Rumors about an 'invisible' display on the foldable iPhone Ultra have been deemed exaggerated by Schrodinger. Recent information indicates that the folding of the screen on this device will be visible, contradicting initial assumptions that the device would offer a crease-free display. Although Apple has found alternative solutions to reduce the visibility of physical deformation in the hinge area, it cannot eliminate it completely.

In another report, insider Ice Universe presented new design drafts for the upcoming Samsung Galaxy S27 models. These designs feature a distinctive rectangular block for the camera on the Galaxy S27 Ultra. The design changes are expected to be radical and could significantly differentiate these models from their predecessors.
The number of sensors and the overall architecture of the cameras in the Galaxy S27 Ultra were not detailed. Insider information suggests that Samsung may introduce innovative features to set itself apart from the competition. Developments at Apple and Samsung continue to be closely monitored as the tech world eagerly awaits the upcoming presentation of these devices.
The speculation surrounding the foldable iPhone and the new features of the Samsung Galaxy S27 Ultra highlights the ongoing competition and innovation pressure between the two tech giants. In particular, the demands for display technologies and design concepts are at the center of current discussions.
