Apple unveils the iPhone Duo, the brand's first foldable model
Apple launched the iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone, at an event led by new CEO John Ternus.

Apple introduced the iPhone Duo, its first foldable phone, during an event held on Wednesday, September 9. This launch comes under the new leadership of John Ternus, who took over as the company's CEO on September 1, succeeding Tim Cook. This was his first presentation as the leader of the company.
The iPhone Duo features a design that includes a 5.4-inch external display, allowing access to various functionalities of the iOS operating system without the need to open the device. When unfolded, the device showcases a main display of 7.6 inches, enhancing the viewing area.
With a launch price set at $2,000, the iPhone Duo aligns with market trends already adopted by other foldable phone manufacturers like Samsung and Huawei. Several experts have commented that Apple's entry into this segment could further stimulate the adoption of this phone format.

In addition to the iPhone Duo, Apple also announced new models of the iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max, as well as the AirPods 5 and new versions of the Apple Watch. The prices of the new iPhones in Brazil range from R$ 11,999 to R$ 30,999, depending on the version and storage capacity.
The launch of the iPhone Duo generated reactions on social media, with users sharing memes and expressing differing opinions about the new offerings. There are also indications that rivals, such as Samsung, reacted to the launch, although specific details of the reaction are not yet available.
Francisco Jerónimo, an analyst interviewed by sources, stated that although Apple has entered the foldable market later compared to other manufacturers, the arrival of the iPhone Duo could have a significant impact on the sector, potentially accelerating the acceptance and adoption of this technology.
