On September 3, 2023, the Russian ruble hit an annual low, continuing its downward trend. This was reported by data from the National Bank of Kyrgyzstan and currency exchange offices in Bishkek. The ruble has noticeably strengthened due to significant depreciations recently and is close to breaching the 1 som mark.

In contrast, the Kazakh tenge saw a significant increase, reaching a new high since 2026. This suggests a recovering demand for the currency, while pressure on the ruble remains constant.

Additionally, sources indicated that the euro gained slightly in value on the same day, while the Chinese yuan also increased and reached historical highs. The exchange rate developments of both the euro and yuan were perceived as stable and positive.

According to reports, the exchange rate of the US dollar remained stable, underscoring the picture of exchange rates in Kyrgyzstan. However, there were no significant changes that could influence interest in the currency.

Another report from September 4, 2023, noted that both the euro and ruble appreciated slightly in Kyrgyz banks, while the US currency remained stable. This information aligns with previous developments in the exchange rates.
