Saudi Arabia has signed contracts with French groups Alstom and CMA CGM, with a total value of nearly one billion euros. These agreements aim to enhance transportation infrastructure and position the country as a global hub for trade and logistics.

According to BFM Business, CMA CGM will be responsible for creating a new terminal at the port of Jeddah, located on the Red Sea. This project is designed to improve port operations and increase transport capacity in the region.

On its part, Alstom will provide additional train sets for the Riyadh metro, as reported by Le Monde. This initiative is part of a broader effort to modernize and expand the urban transport network in the Saudi capital.

These projects are part of Saudi Arabia's long-term development strategy, which seeks to diversify its economy and reduce its dependence on oil.

The contracts also reflect the intention to attract foreign expertise in key sectors such as transport and logistics, a priority for the Saudi government.

Specific details of the contracts, including timelines and technical specifications, have not been disclosed by the various sources.
