Sébastien Lecornu establishes new unit to counter cyberattacks
The Prime Minister has called for the formation of a specialized unit to bolster the state's information system security against the threat of cyberattacks.

Sébastien Lecornu, the French Prime Minister, has requested the creation of a new specialized unit to combat cyberattacks targeting the state’s information system. This decision was outlined in a letter to the Secretary General for Defense and National Security.
According to the information provided, the aim of this task force would be to respond quickly in cases of suspected serious breaches to the integrity of information systems. This development comes in the wake of recent cyberattacks that have impacted French administrations.
Lecornu also emphasized that this new unit, which will be formed by the National Cybersecurity Agency (ANSSI), should be operational within three days. Its goal is to ensure a faster response to the growing cyber threats.

This initiative follows numerous hacking incidents, particularly the theft of tax data, which has raised growing concerns about the security of public information in France.
In light of the increasing cyberattacks, the French government appears to be intensifying its efforts to protect its information systems. The new team will need to be ready to act as soon as sensitive access points are compromised, thereby strengthening the protection of citizens' data and public institutions.
This measure is part of a broader framework of government actions aimed at securing the country's critical infrastructure, as cybersecurity threats continue to evolve.
