Severe Rain Causes Diversions and Traffic Issues in Delhi
Heavy rainfall in Delhi-NCR led to 15 flight diversions and significant traffic disruptions on Monday.

Heavy rain and thunderstorms hit Delhi-NCR on Monday, prompting the India Meteorological Department (IMD) to issue a red alert for the area. The severe weather conditions resulted in the diversion of 15 flights from Delhi airport, impacting travel plans for many passengers. According to reports, 12 of these flights were redirected to Jaipur, while two were sent to Chandigarh and one to Lucknow.
The torrential rain caused severe waterlogging across several districts, leading to significant traffic disruptions on the roads. Many commuters took to social media to share images of inundated streets and halted transportation, reflecting the difficulties faced by daily travelers.
In light of the severe weather, airlines advised passengers to check flight statuses before heading to the airport. Commuters reported challenges in reaching their destinations due to the flooded roads, which hindered normal travel and services in the city.

The IMD has warned that heavy rain is expected to persist, keeping the city under a red warning until at least 5pm on Monday. This has raised concerns about ongoing travel safety and the ability of local infrastructure to handle the excessive rainfall.
As rainfall continued to affect daily life, reports emerged of children swimming in waterlogged streets, illustrating the severity of the situation in certain neighborhoods.
