The Smithsonian's National Museum of American History is hosting a special exhibit to commemorate the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks. This display features rare artifacts related to the events of that day, aiming to provide a connection for younger generations who have no direct memories of the attacks.

Ceremonies are taking place across the United States and globally to honor the nearly 3,000 victims of the attacks on September 11, 2001. In New York City, commemorations are focused at Ground Zero, where families of victims gather to remember their loved ones.

New York Mayor Zohran Mamdani announced the launch of a free online portal containing 170,000 pages of health records related to the aftermath of the attacks. This initiative aims to address issues surrounding public health and the dangers present at Ground Zero, as well as to ensure transparency about past threats.

Vice President J.D. Vance and all living former presidents are expected to participate in memorial activities alongside Mayor Mamdani at the September 11 memorial. The gathering reflects a collective moment of remembrance and reflection on the lasting impact of the attacks.

In addition to official memorials, community gatherings and vigils are being held nationwide, with participants recalling the day that transformed American society. Events include moments of silence and tributes to those who lost their lives on September 11.

The commemorative actions highlight ongoing discussions about the legacy of the attacks, the resulting change in national policy, and the emotional toll experienced by survivors and families. As the country reflects on this pivotal moment, new generations are encouraged to engage with the history of that day.
