On the night of Wednesday, September 9, thousands of drones were used in New York City to visually recreate the Twin Towers as part of the tributes marking the 25th anniversary of the September 11, 2001 attacks.

The spectacle, titled "2,977 Lights Over New York Harbor," utilized exactly 2,977 drones, each one representing a victim of the terrorist attacks that claimed nearly three thousand lives.

The initiative aimed not only to honor those who lost their lives but also to remind everyone of the significance of those events in the recent history of the United States. Among the victims, many were individuals who worked in the area and visitors, reflecting the city's diversity at the time.

The drone display provided a clear and impactful visualization of the outline of the Twin Towers, using lights to form their silhouette in the sky, an emotional and visually striking representation.

Similar tribute events took place in various parts of the country, including formal ceremonies in New York and Washington, aimed at honoring the memory of the victims and providing space for reflection on the impact of the attacks.

The tributes also included moments of silence, marking a time to remember the tragic event and reinforce community unity in the rebuilding of what was lost, as well as to remember the legacy that continues to this day.
