A soldier from the Military Emergency Unit (UME) died this afternoon in an accident that occurred while he was participating in firefighting efforts at the Las Peñas de Riglos fire in Huesca. The incident took place in the town of Atarés when a UME truck overturned on the Bernués road, resulting in the soldier's death.

Initial reports indicate that the truck was transporting four soldiers at the time of the accident. As a consequence of the overturning, one of them lost his life and three others sustained injuries.

The fire at Las Peñas de Riglos has burned over 16,000 hectares since it began last Monday. Close to a thousand personnel, including members of the UME, are working to extinguish the flames.
