Standard and Charleroi face severe sanctions after Walloon derby

The Disciplinary Council for Professional Football (DRP) has decided to impose heavier sanctions on both Standard and Charleroi following the chaotic Walloon derby from last season. Both clubs are required to play one home match without fans.

The sanction means that Standard and Charleroi will each miss a matchday experience for their supporters. Additionally, there is a conditional punishment, meaning that if further incidents occur within the next year, the penalty may become harsher.

In Standard's case, the club will have to play two home matches without fans, while Charleroi will need to play three home games without supporters. However, the exact criteria for assessing future incidents have not been specified.
