STF strengthens security and Fachin takes over the case on Moraes and Vorcaro
Next Tuesday, the STF will discuss the relationship between Minister Moraes and former banker Vorcaro, under Fachin's new case management.

On September 15, the Federal Supreme Court (STF) will hold an extraordinary session to discuss the alleged connection between Minister Alexandre de Moraes and former banker Daniel Vorcaro. To ensure safety during the meeting, the Secretary of Public Security of the Federal District, Alexandre Patury, confirmed that security around the court will be increased, according to g1.
The president of the STF, Edson Fachin, has taken over the case regarding the messages exchanged between Moraes and Vorcaro. Fachin also decided to refer the investigations into fraud at the National Institute of Social Security (INSS) and at the Master Bank to the Court's presidency. This referral will suspend both cases until Fachin makes a new determination, allowing for various developments in the analysis of these issues.
The judgment of the Federal Police report, covering 52 messages between Moraes and Vorcaro, will be on the agenda for the session. This will be the first time that the STF meets to deliberate on whether it should investigate one of its own members. The analysis of the messages and the possible opening of an inquiry are key points of discussion, as reported by various sources.

Information indicates that the STF reached a tie of 4 to 4 regarding the joint analysis of the motions related to the cases of Moraes and André Mendonça, resulting in the suspension of the judgment until next week. The ministers have expressed differing positions on how to address the investigations, with a faction aligned with Moraes requesting a postponement of the judgment, invoking procedural issues during the discussions.
Meanwhile, Fachin has narrowed the focus of next Tuesday's judgment to the relationship between Moraes and Vorcaro, excluding other matters from the agenda. Previous actions related to the investigations involving the former banker and the minister have generated tensions among STF members, reflecting an environment of internal dispute, as reported by various media outlets.
The session in question is expected to attract significant public and media attention, given that it involves prominent figures in the Brazilian political and judicial landscape and evaluates their behaviors and communications. Live coverage of the event will be provided, allowing the public to follow the court's procedures and decisions in real-time.
