Tadej Pogacar has ended his season early following a serious crash at the Vuelta. The Slovenian cyclist will not participate in the World Road Championships, where he will not be able to defend his title. This has been confirmed by multiple sources, including SRF and Tages-Anzeiger.
After the accident, Pogacar issued a statement explaining his decision. He indicated that he intends to take all necessary steps to fully recover before returning to competitive cycling.
In addition to ending his season, Pogacar announced that he has extended his contract with UAE Team until 2032. This was also reported by STOL.it and other media. He will thus remain part of the team while focusing on his recovery.
