Parpública announced that it has received two improved, binding proposals from Air France-KLM and Lufthansa in the context of negotiations for the sale of 44.9% of TAP's capital. The proposals were submitted on Wednesday, marking a significant step in the airline's privatization process.

After a period of analysis and negotiation, the final bids were presented by the two airlines, which are competing to acquire a stake in TAP. These proposals represent a second round of offers, following the initial evaluation conducted by Parpública, the entity responsible for managing state holdings.

According to the information released, the final decision regarding the sale of TAP shares will require approval from the Council of Ministers. This step is essential to formalize any agreement reached with the interested parties and move forward with the completion of the process.

In addition to government approval, the sale is subject to gaining the green light from European competition authorities. This validation is crucial to ensure that the agreement complies with competition rules in the European Union and does not involve unfair market practices.

Air France-KLM and Lufthansa were the only companies to submit bids at this stage, focusing their offers on points aimed at enhancing TAP's competitiveness, although the specific details of the proposals have yet to be publicly disclosed.

The privatization process of TAP continues to advance, with Parpública ensuring that all steps are being carried out as planned, although the exact timeline for the completion of the deal has not been specified.
