Thousands protest in Madrid against evictions and education cuts
Thousands of people demonstrated in Madrid during two simultaneous protests, one against the eviction of an elderly woman and the other in defense of public education.

In Madrid, thousands protested against the eviction of an 87-year-old woman who had been living in the same house for 70 years. The protest drew citizens expressing their outrage at the situation, demanding the suspension of the eviction.
At the same time, another demonstration in support of public education took place, coinciding with a campsite at Puerta del Sol. The protesters called for measures aimed at ending evictions and abuses by real estate investors.
The public education demonstration attracted around 10,000 participants, who took to the streets in response to cuts in non-university education. This event was organized ahead of a strike scheduled for October 14.

Protesters at Puerta del Sol demanded not only the protection of tenants' rights but also a more serious focus on issues related to public education and budget cuts affecting the sector.
While both causes drew the attention of citizens, the atmosphere in Madrid was one of solidarity and activism. People demonstrated a strong sense of community, fighting for issues that touch on both housing and education.
The protests occur against a backdrop where many citizens express concerns about the rising cost of living and its impact on housing and education, leading to growing social discontent in the Spanish capital.
