Tropical Storm 'Dolphin' has severely affected daily life in Shanghai with heavy rain and strong wind gusts. City authorities announced that traffic on four subway lines has been completely suspended, while other lines were operating only on shortened routes.

Airport operations in the city were also impacted, with a total of 950 flights canceled. All inner-city ferries and excursion trips on the rivers were halted to ensure passenger safety.

Due to the severe weather conditions, residents have been advised to stay at home. This precaution affects not only the city of Shanghai but also surrounding regions in East China, where more heavy rain is forecasted to continue.

According to local media reports, more than 200,000 people in the metropolis are affected by evacuations. In some streets, water has reached knee-deep levels, further complicating the situation.

A boy was reportedly swept into the sea, highlighting the dangers posed by the storm event. Authorities have therefore intensified measures to ensure the safety of the population.

The impacts of the storm are extensive, and it is expected that the weather conditions will continue to pose a challenge for the population and infrastructure in the coming days.
