UN: Earth to Exceed 1.5 Degrees Celsius Threshold in Four Years
A UN report confirms that the world will surpass the 1.5 degrees Celsius threshold within four years, impacting the fight against climate change.

According to a new report from the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), the Earth is likely to exceed the 1.5 degrees Celsius warming threshold compared to pre-industrial levels within four years. This information has led to a reassessment of the discourse regarding the fight against climate change.
The UN emphasizes that this exceedance must be short-lived to ensure that temperatures return to this level by the year 2100. Achieving this requires rapid and significant measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.
Scientists indicate that although surpassing the 1.5 degrees threshold will soon be a reality, the goal of limiting warming by the end of this century remains achievable. However, immediate actions are needed to reach this target.

According to the report, the possibility of returning the temperature below 1.5 degrees depends on measures such as rapidly reducing emissions and removing carbon from the atmosphere.
This development marks a new phase in the global approach to climate change. Since the Paris Agreement in 2015, the focus has always been on this critical threshold, which is now considered unattainable.
The UN calls for immediate action to combat the consequences of rising temperatures, but specific strategies and responses remain subjects of discussion among countries and policymakers.
