The US Senate has approved new sanctions against Russia. This decision comes in the wake of a drone incident in Leipzig and following President Zelensky's decision to launch a military operation against the Russian arms industry.

The legislation enables punitive measures against key consumers of Russian oil and gas. A vote in the House of Representatives is still required to finalize the new measures.
