Yemen army launches operation against Houthi rebels following new attacks

The Yemen army has launched a military operation against Houthi positions after attacks in Mokha and Marib.

The Yemen army announced the start of an operation against the positions of the Houthi rebels. This action was triggered after the Houthis carried out new attacks on the city and port of Mokha, as well as residential neighborhoods in Marib, during the early hours.

Colonel Majed al Nuzayli, the official spokesperson for the Yemeni Armed Forces, detailed that the insurgents, who are backed by the Iranian regime, launched ballistic missiles and drones against displacement camps and residential areas in the affected regions.

The Houthi attacks targeted both urban infrastructure and inhabited areas, prompting a response from the Yemeni army to protect the local population and repel the attacks.

The situation remains tense, with the sequence of military actions and new attacks raising concerns about security in the regions of Mokha and Marib.
