Vincent Marissal withdraws his candidacy for the PQ in Taschereau
Vincent Marissal will not run for the Parti Québécois following allegations of conflict of interest.

Vincent Marissal announced that he will not be a candidate for the Parti Québécois in the Taschereau riding. This decision comes just 48 hours after he declared his candidacy.
According to several sources, his candidacy was revoked by Paul St-Pierre Plamondon (PSPP), leader of the Parti Québécois, due to allegations regarding the compliance of his actions with the ethics code for members of the National Assembly.
The deputy was accused of having exchanged his apartment, for which he received a stipend from the National Assembly, in order to reside abroad. This situation raised concerns and criticism both within the party and among the public.

PSPP clarified that the decision was not based on Marissal's reception by party members, emphasizing that the reasons were related to ethical issues rather than a rejection from the grassroots.
This situation highlights the challenges that the Parti Québécois faces as elections approach, while also shedding light on the ethical expectations placed on its candidates.
