A severe wildfire in northern Greece has threatened several popular holiday regions. According to reports, more than 250 tourists were evacuated from the beaches by boat as the flames approached dangerously close to the coast. The evacuation was conducted by sea and deemed urgently necessary.
The exact impact of the wildfire and the resulting property damage are currently unclear. The situation continues to require attention as rescue operations are coordinated on-site. Reports indicate that the beaches of heavily affected holiday areas are particularly impacted.
