Confiscation of Posters During Commemoration at Bois du Cazier

During the commemorations of the Bois du Cazier disaster, held on Saturday morning, the Charleroi police confiscated a banner and posters from several anti-fascist activists. They were present to protest the participation of far-right Italian political officials at the event. The police not only removed the materials but also requested the activists to leave the site.

The intervention by law enforcement was described as heavy-handed, according to a report from La Libre Belgique. RTBF also confirmed that the police asked the activists to withdraw, without providing further details on how the operation unfolded.
