Fire on grain field near BER airport causes smoke
A fire on a grain field south of Berlin's BER airport affected about 20 hectares on Thursday.
The fire on the grain field near Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER) ignited an impressive area of around 20 hectares, roughly equivalent to the size of 28 football fields. According to reports, numerous firefighting vehicles were deployed to combat the blaze.
The fire department reported significant smoke development due to the fire. Information regarding the possible cause has not yet been released. The firefighting operation took place on Thursday when the flames were discovered.
